Hello all, I have just purchased the Traveler DC 5300 from Aldi. I am very critical about the quality of photographs but I must tell everyone the quality of this camera is outstanding.For those who have had problems getting pics onto the PC I have found if you just have pictures on the camera, XP retreives them no problem, but if there is a mix of both pics and video the computer doesnt recognise the camera? This doesnt bother me too much as i just take pics, but give it a try it may solve your problems.

I just bought the new 5300 model from Aldi but the flash works only intermittently. This digital photography world is all new to me but I've been playing with the camera in a dimly lit room, pointing at the same object and with a given setting the flash works sometimes and not others. I understand there are latency issues while it recharges etc but I wait for quite a while between photos. SOmetimes I get a nearly-black photo, sometimes the natural light, sometimes very white - way overexposed.
Has anyone else had this problem? Sounds like a warranty issue but I'm crossing my fingers that it's not an inherent problem across the model!

DC5300-Brilliant, use card reader, its very quick to transfer and I have never had any probs. Excellent camera. Movie clips in best quality, although short (30secs) well worth having!

I also have bought the 5300 and have found it excellent. After reading your note, I tried mine in various formats, no problems. I am also new to digital photography. I also bought the graphic tablet and had a problem installing the driver, so I e-mailed the company from their website, found them very helpful. Why don't you try this as a first step?

Having just purchased the Traveler DC5300 from Aldi, I am very very pleased with it. I would really like to know who manufactures this camera and also where I can purchase spare batteries as this is the only thing I find a bit disappointing as the battery runs down very quickly. Having said this, I find the Traveler brilliant and the download to my PC, which is a Medion, is very quick and very accurate. All in all this is a brilliant buy.

Jus got self one of these simply becos the spec was that much bttr than comparable priced digis. I must say that Im v impressed - Ive only had it a short while and am happily snappin some v high quality images - on a par with minolta f300 which also appeared in my household over xmas - reports of the sfter sales service and warranty are also favourable

The camera is made by Premier Imaging of Taiwan. and sold under a variety of brand names including Toshiba, Vivitar, and Umax. This deal at Aldi is by far and away the best deal on offer. Jessops also do a version, but it is the same camera
